Well, I'm not really sure what to say about this one. It was not what I was expecting. The first part of the book is a really quirky fun steampunk themed story; then about halfway through it becomes a straight out bodice ripper. No joke.

Don't get me wrong, I sometimes enjoy bodice rippers myself... However, I was so much more interested in the steampunk parts of the story that I found myself annoyed with the "romance" [I use that term loosely.] because I just wanted to get back to the adventure. If the graphic sex was toned down this might be a five star fantasy novel.

A lot of interesting characters were introduced in the story and I will probably continue reading the series but I think not back to back as I often do with most serial stories. Now that I know what type of romance these are I will save them for when I'm in the mood for that sort of book.
