Lord of the Mist
Don't let the cover fool you, this is not as much of a juicy romance as you might think. On the whole I found the book to be pretty unromantic, and it really leaned to the historical fiction side. Not that is was bad; I kind of enjoyed it for the first half of the book; then it sort of dragged a little at the end.
One thing about this book that really stuck out for me is this torture/judgement scene that's towards the middle of the book. It kind of turned my stomach and then there was a sex scene not long after that but I was like no.No.NO! Too soon, too soon. My enjoyment kind of went downhill from that point, but there is still something compelling about the writing.
